City or township, county, special district, federally recognized Native American tribal, or state governments; for-profit organizations other than small businesses; Native American tribal organizations, other than federally recognized tribal governments; nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; private, public, and state-controlled institutions of higher education; and public/Indian housing authorities.

Why Apply:
Receive funding to prevent and reduce violent crime in communities by supporting comprehensive, evidence-based violence intervention and prevention strategies. These programs include efforts to address gang and gun violence, based on partnerships among community residents, local government agencies, victim service providers, community-based organizations (CBOs), law enforcement, hospitals, researchers, and other community stakeholders.
